My education is in Business and Information Technology and I’m the cliché example of a kid who spent his university years studying something he never enjoyed or felt destined to do. Partly thanks to this I have never looked at design as purely creative work. It’s always been business for me and everyone I’ve worked with - if it doesn’t deliver results, it’s insignificant how fancy it looks. For the past five years, I was freelancing and I've helped brands achieve their potential by creating their identity system and developing their web solutions. I've reached a stage in my career where the next logical step is to join a team in order to share ideas and make significant contributions at a larger scale.
I’m a self-taught designer obsessed with self-improvement and raising the bar for my work with every design project. It’s a common designer’s trait to hate the work you’ve done 2 years ago and feel most proud of your most recent project. In order to take my career to the next level, I am currently in the process of completing a master's degree in Digital Design from Brunel University, London. The course consisted of 4 major modules besides the final dissertation, these being:
- Digital Design
- Brand Experience Design
- Digital Brand Strategy
- Web Technologies (Video and Web Development)
UX practices and design in general constantly change, as every other discipline, therefore I strongly believe in constant learning about design, business, UX and growth and how these merge together. I don’t believe in the traditional education system, I think learning is a mindset, because of this I am also enrolled in an online course at Interaction Design Foundation related to UX.
